Abstract

This study aims to determine the government’s efforts on Global Maritime Fulcrum economic diplomacy. The study approach is a qualitative-descriptive research based on economic diplomacy and Global Maritime Fulcrum concept. The research regarding the government’s efforts on economic diplomacy focuses on eight countries which are included in the highest countries on Indonesia’s Economic Diplomacy Index and Special Domain Box countries, which includes the United States of America, Singapore, China, Malaysia, Japan, United Kingdom, South Korea, and Denmark. The research concludes that the Indonesian Government carried out economic diplomacy trough regional forum, multilateral forum, and bilateral forum and established an internal institution integration as efforts, however the practice varies and was not only focused on investment intentions. The responses also vary; the United States of America appeared to be uninterested in the investment programs. Hereafter, the efforts on Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and United Kingdom are on the initial program promotion step and the countries provide support. Meanwhile, the efforts on China, Japan and Denmark are on an advance step such as executed a feasibility study, signing of Memorandum of Understanding/MoU up to the beginning of investment realization.
