Abstract

Drug crime is one form of many transnational crimes that are now threatening Indonesia's national security. This paper aims to describe the role of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and ASEAN Senior Officials on Drugs Matters (ASOD) in dealing with drug crimes in Indonesia in 2018-2021 and how the implementation of the cooperation between BNN and ASOD is expected to solve drug problems in Indonesia. ASOD is an international regime in the Southeast Asia region that specializes in dealing with the problem of drug crime in the region. The writer tries to explain the role of BNN and ASOD in dealing with drug crimes in Indonesia in 2018-2021 with the concept of Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) to analyze drug problems in Indonesia and the concept of regional cooperation to analyze the efforts of BNN and ASOD in eradicating drugs in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method as the technique with data derived from library research and data reduction technique of Miles & Hubermann.. The author concludes that the implementation of BNN and ASOD has not been effective against environmental changes in Indonesia until 2021, as seen from the high number of cases, the number of suspects for drug crimes in Indonesia and the many obstacles in its implementation.
